The EU-funded Mobreed under its Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme, has provided funding to support training of graduate students in African universities. The project was launched in December 2016 in collaboration with five African universities among other Jimma University and a European partner CIRAD from Montpellier, France. The other partners in Africa include University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin, University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, University of Namibia in Namibia, Ebonyi State University in Nigeria. The project aims to promote mobility of African students among partner universities with PhD and Msc degree scholarship awards. Currently, 10 PhD and 8 Msc students have been enrolled in the five African partner universities. In order to evaluate one year project performance and select new Msc students for the second round scholarship program the EU-funded MoBreed project will have a workshop at Jimma University College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (JUCAVM) from May 15-17, 2018.
